Harry Weksler was a glassblower who left England in 1920 and established the Weksler Thermometer Corp. in St. Louis. The firm became Weksler Instrument Corp. in 1968. In 1947, the company applied for a U.S. patent for their adjustable-angle industrial thermometer. In 1995, the company sold its name and parts of its product line to Dresser Industries. Currently the Weksler brand and products are a wholly own subsidiary of Ashcroft, Inc.
